What’s new in Planning Analytics Workspace 2.0.104 / 2.1.11

BI2run - IBM PAW 2.0.104

IBM released the latest version of Planning Analytics Workspace on May 20, 2025. Version 2.0.104, also known as 2.1.11, brings exciting new features and optimizations in the areas of modeling, reporting and administration as well as known issues that should be considered.

News in Books and Reporting

Customizable cell markers

The appearance of selected and highlighted cells can now be customized. Using the format manager under Selection Styles, background and frame colors can be adjusted as desired – even a transparent background option is available. This not only makes analyses clearer, but also more visually appealing.

Removing duplicates in the set editor

The Set Editor has been given a practical feature with the new Remove Duplicated Members button: duplicate elements in long lists can be filtered out in no time at all. This provides a better overview and greater efficiency, especially for complex dimensions.

PDF export of visualizations

Individual layout and scaling options are now available when exporting visualizations to PDF format. There are two options to choose from:

  • In View: Prints the visualization exactly as it appears on the screen.
  • New Page: Prints all data, spread over several pages if necessary.

News in modeling

Database explorer for more efficient work

The new Database Explorer facilitates direct interaction with TM1 objects from the modeling area. Each object type supports specific mass actions, such as deleting, locking or unlocking cubes and dimensions. For chores, it is possible to delete them or activate or deactivate schedules.

Forecasts: Export and even more precise forecasts

Forecast results can now be exported directly from Explorations as a CSV file – including actual values and forecast data. This makes it much easier to share, archive or further process the results.

At the same time, a new option ensures greater precision: forecasts can be expanded using multivariate models that include up to two additional, related time series. This allows correlations to be better mapped and the forecast quality to be significantly increased – a real added value, especially with complex data relationships.

News in the administration

Access control in Drive Explorer

Drive Explorer now supports Access Control Lists (ACL), allowing you to define exactly which users or groups have access to certain folders. This increases control and data protection when sharing content.

API key with expiration date

In the cloud environment, the expiration date is now displayed for each API key. This makes it easier to monitor validity, helps to react in good time and avoids service interruptions and security problems.

Known problems

In the current version, two problems have been identified in connection with deletion authorizations in Drive Explorer:

  • Users with write permissions (WRITE) can delete files and folders even if the delete permission (DELETE) has been explicitly denied.
  • Users with explicit delete permission on shared folders may have difficulties deleting files, which contradicts the expected ACL functionality and may affect collaboration.

Conclusion

With version 2.0.104 / 2.1.11, IBM is taking a further step towards more efficient use, more precise forecasts and better control over data and rights. Anyone using Planning Analytics Workspace productively should definitely take a closer look at the new features – they not only offer convenience, but also real added value in everyday life.
