IBM released the latest version of Planning Analytics Workspace on June 25, 2025. Version 2.0.105, or 2.1.12, brings numerous new functions and improvements in the areas of reporting, modeling and administration.
Updates in Books and Reporting
Show version details
The details of the current version can now be displayed directly via the title bar. By clicking on the user name and selecting “About Planning Analytics” and “Runtime Versions”, you can obtain information on the version of Workspace and the spreadsheet service.
Improved control of picklists
Picklists now offer extended control over the display of empty values. In the format manager under “Data Area” and “Data Entry”, users can replace the default label “none” with user-defined texts or remove the option completely from the drop-down list.
Improved drill views
Drill views now show the full toolbar and include the set editor, providing the same functionality as the source cube views. Functions such as zero suppression, export, save, sandbox and member selection are available, providing a consistent user experience.
Simplified storage management for OpenShift
Storage management for OpenShift deployments has been automated. This reduces manual configurations and facilitates the maintenance of local PAW deployments.
News in modeling
Process editor settings
In the process editor, developers can now set the default data type for new parameters between numeric and string. This speeds up the development of TI processes.
Improved debugger
The table-integrated debugger now displays variable values directly via hover. This enables quick insights without having to leave the debugger.
Database Explorer extensions
The database explorer now shows the number of elements per hierarchy within a dimension. In addition, the data source type of each Turbo Integrator process is displayed, which simplifies process management.
Extended TM1 server log view
TM1 server log entries are now displayed in more detail in the modeling area, including a link for further details. This significantly improves the overview and troubleshooting.
Browser support in Drive Explorer
Credential fields in Drive Explorer now support the browser’s password management. Users can therefore conveniently save and automatically enter login information.

Updates in the administration
REST API session timeout
REST API session timeouts can now be configured directly in the Planning Analytics Administration with the parameter “HTTPSessionTimeoutMinutes”. This is particularly useful for integrations that require persistent connections to the TM1 database.
Memory control for MDX queries
Two new parameters for memory control of MDX queries have been added:
- MaximumGlobalQueryMemorySizeMB: Defines the maximum memory consumption of all simultaneous MDX queries. Default is 0 (deactivated).
- MaximumSingleQueryMemorySizeMB: Limits the memory consumption of a single MDX query. The default is also 0 (deactivated).
These settings improve system stability by limiting the memory consumption of complex queries.
Extended lifecycle management snapshots
Lifecycle Management snapshots now support a maximum size of 100 MB. This increases flexibility when managing larger assets, while maintaining the limit of 100 assets per snapshot.
This release brings significant improvements to make working with Planning Analytics Workspace more efficient and stable.
